The MAX3221/MAX3223/MAX3243 achieve an astonishing supply current of 1µA, leveraging Maxim's groundbreaking AutoShutdown™ technology. In the event that these ICs fail to sense a valid signal level on their receiver inputs, they automatically shut down power to the onboard supplies and drivers. This occurs if the RS-232 cable is disconnected or if the transmitters of the connected peripherals are turned off. When a valid signal is detected, the system turns back on
