The CD4440 IC is a stereo audio power amplifier integrated circuit (IC) developed by Texas Instruments to provide amplification for audio signals. 6W means that the maximum output power of each channel is 6 watts, which means that under the proper supply voltage and load impedance conditions, CD4440 can provide 6 watts of power output to the connected speakers.

The CD4440 can work in two different amplification modes. In stereo mode, it provides amplification for the left and right channels independently. While in BTL (Bridge-Push-Pull) mode, it can connect two channels into a single amplified output, which can provide higher output power. BTL mode is useful for applications that require greater volume, such as some car audio systems.

CD4440 IC Features

Two-Channel Power Amplifier: The CD4440 is a two-channel power amplifier for stereo audio applications.

Stereo Mode: In stereo mode, the typical output power is 6 watts per channel. This makes the CD4440 suitable for applications requiring moderate volume, such as small audio systems and portable speakers.

BTL mode: In BTL mode, CD4440 can provide higher output power up to 19 watts per channel. This is useful for applications that require higher volumes, such as car audio systems.

Few External Components: The CD4440 is designed to minimize the number of external components required, simplifying circuit design and assembly.

Low "porf" sound when powering on/off: The noise generated when the power is switched on and off is very small and will not significantly affect the audio quality.

Good Ripple Rejection Ratio: The CD4440 has a good Ripple Rejection Ratio, which helps maintain the clarity and accuracy of the output audio.

Good channel isolation: Channel isolation refers to the fact that the output of one channel does not interfere with another channel, which helps ensure accurate separation of stereo sounds.

Low Input Noise: With proper circuit settings, the CD4440 has very low input noise, which helps provide clear audio output.

Low Distortion: The CD4440 generally exhibits low levels of distortion, which helps maintain the high quality of the audio.

Convenient cooling plate design: In order to effectively dissipate heat, the design of CD4440 can be easily combined with the cooling plate to ensure proper temperature during operation.
